Cato Networks launched a new management platform for its SD-WAN product that allows enterprise customers to offload that management to Cato or its partners. This includes the ability to have Cato or its partners manage network and security configuration, and change management. The company explains that its Hands-Free Management for Cato Cloud platform provides its enterprise customers with greater flexibility by allowing them to “leave behind rigid telco services and advance to flexible global SD-WAN services where management models are customized to meet their requirements.” The company’s Cato Cloud product uses a global private network with built-in security. It recently added a threat-hunting system and self-healing capabilities to the platform. Company CEO and co-founder Shlomo Kramer told SDxCentral earlier this year that it was building out its platform to take on traditional telco operators. “Cato Cloud already offers the features and capabilities enterprises require for a WAN transformation,” Kramer said. “We are rounding out our managed services offerings in both networking and security, introducing additional enterprise-grade security layers and network optimization features at cloud pace, and investing in scaling our global network footprint.” Cato earlier this year closed on a $55 million funding round that bolstered its total financial haul to $125 million since its founding in 2015. Kramer said at that time that the funding would further its service infrastructure, boost its engineering and support organizations, and its sales and marketing efforts. Gartner last year ranked the company as a visionary – alongside CloudGenix and Versa Networks — in the analyst firm’s inaugural Magic Quadrant for WAN Edge Infrastructure.
