Maxta、ハイパーコンバージドソフトウェアスタックにアナリティクスを追加

これにより、顧客のデータセンターとクラウドの可視性が提供され、問題が発生する前に問題を解決するのに役立ちます。Hyperconverged software vendor Maxta added analytics to its stack, providing customers with real-time visibility into their data centers and clouds to troubleshoot problems before they occur, the vendor says. The new MxIQ feature, which is integrated into the Maxta hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) software stack, combines configuration metrics with visibility into capacity, performance, and system health across IT environments. It also collects metadata across the entire customer base via pre-installed agents on customers’ servers and securely sends it to a cloud-based service where it’s analyzed. Maxta then uses this data to alert customers about potential impacts on system health and availability. This allows the vendor to predict an issue — such as capacity needs, or whether a drive is about to fail, or whether performance issues are related to storage, compute, or networking. And it then recommends a fix before an outage occurs. “The idea is to provide the proactive support and also provide resource planning,” said Kiran Sreenivasamurthy, VP of product management. Maxta plans to add machine learning and automation in mid-2019 for more proactive remediation. “Today we analyze the logs, we proactively go back to the customer, and say ‘here is what we recommend,’” said Barry Phillips, Maxta’s chief marketing officer. “In the future, it’s around being able to automate that process.” The California-based company was founded in 2009. It has raised about $35 million to date, most recently in a 2014 Series B. It’s a pure software play, and its HCI software runs on most servers including those from Cisco, Dell-EMC, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Huawei, Lenovo, Quanta, and Supermicro. “Like any true software vendor should be, you can download us and put us on existing servers and even put all those things together,” Phillips said. “You can have a Maxta cluster with different brands of servers, or even different generations of Intel chipsets.” The software supports both VMware and Red Hat hypervisors, but it also competes against these two vendors that have their own HCI stack. Other competitors include Nutanix and Pivot3. Maxta customers include the U.S. Air Force, Trusource Labs, Driscoll’s, Motorola Mobility, and Texas Southern University.
